The owner of this new construction home didn’t have specific preferences for the project; instead he trusted our expert knowledge and experience to design the perfect landscape for his home. The final design included soft scaping and the addition of outdoor lights.
Our team brought in plants, flowers and trees to liven up the landscape and soil to give the new plantings important nutrients. Trees we added to the home landscape were river birches, maple trees, dogwoods and hornbeams. For plantlife, we carefully select items in our nursery that we know will survive and thrive in our climate. Some of our favorites are beautiful shrubs such as hydrangeas, liriope and magnolias. Including native plants and trees such as the dogwood tree is so valuable. These natives do not require as much watering, help improve air quality, and decrease pollution. Deer-resistant plants are also beneficial as they heavily travel the area. Knowing the site and what works best for a landscape helps our clients’ homes look great season after season.

With this new homeowner’s project, the first thing to consider was adding trees to soften the home’s exterior. Our design called for trees that wouldn’t block the house but accentuate it. We added large boxwoods to create defined borders and bring curved, organic shapes to the landscape. The larger plants and trees complement bigger homes like this one and maximize space on the lot. The focus on full-scale plant material allows for a more mature look that the client will love right away.
The first thing designed were the planting beds, including their shape and placement relative to the newly built house. Adding perennials ensures the home will have long-lasting, beautiful plants year after year. With each of these additions, Seiler’s created a beautiful new construction landscape for the homeowner to love.
